Mulder: Itsy bitsy spider.

* Mulder: You’re right and we’re wasting time arguing about it.

Synopsis: A group of lumberjacks are trapped in the forest. They all decide to try and make a run for it before night falls. Two men hear an overwhelming buzzing as a large group of green bugs descend on them. Mulder shows Scully a photo of the loggers. They’ve all disappeared. And so, have the people sent in to find them. Now Mulder and Scully go looking for them. They meet with a Federal Forest Service Agent. Another man joins them, he works for the logging company. They take a four-hour drive to the site. They drive over some spikes. The rest of the way they have to hike. The camp is deserted. Everything has been sabotaged. They survey the area that’s been clear cut and find a giant cocoon. Scully gets hauled up to cut it down. She is shocked to find a body in the cocoon. The logger get the generator fixed. He finds an eco-terrorist inside. Mulder comes in and stops him from killing him. Everyone is confused. He describes the bugs devouring a human. Turns out the loggers have been taking old growth trees. The logger refuses to listen and goes outside the cabin after dark. He taunts it. The next day, they recheck the trees cut down. One has a strange green ring. The ranger takes a core sample of the tree with the green ring. The logger leaves to hike to the disabled truck and radio for help. At the cabin, the ranger finds that there are tiny bugs living in the ring. He can’t identify the bug. The eco-terrorist tells them people started dying and disappearing only after that tree was cut down. The logger makes it to the truck but there isn’t a key. As he’s working on the engine he hears strange buzzing sounds. He thinks it’s the monkey wrenchers. A swarm of green bugs come out of the sky and he jumps in the truck. He hotwires it, but it doesn’t move. They come in through the vents and start attacking him. They suck him dry quite quickly. In the cabin, Scully keeps analyses the bugs. Mulder thinks that a volcanic eruption caused the weird bugs to grow. He thinks it could be an extinct species that was trapped in the tree and only released as it was cut down. The group survives another day. The eco-terrorist sneaks out and steals the gas can. Mulder catches him. Later, Mulder fixes the radio and tries to call for help. The ranger discovers the terrorist is gone and he’s furious. Scully and Mulder get into a fight. Mulder decides they have to seal the place up as best as they can. Night falls and no one sleeps. Scully can actually see the bugs coming in where its dark in the corner. Outside, the generator is starting to run low. Scully is barely keeping it together. The generator starts to falter. Mulder tries to comfort her with the radio transmission for help. The gas runs out in the generator. Luckily, the sun is rising. They take one of the tires of the trashed truck at camp and head towards the truck. When they arrive, the find the logger dead in a cocoon inside. They hear the jeep with the terrorist. He came back. He tells them his friends are all dead. Everyone jumps in and tey try to make it out before sunset. However, they run over spikes and they can go no further. The bugs start to swarm him and he runs from the car. The bugs get in the car and start attacking the three. A helicopter flies in. Several vans also make their way in. They are in full hazmat suits. They find the three in the jeep still alive and evacuate them. They are taken to a quarantine center. Mulder is up and moving but Scully is still not out of the woods. The head scientist tells Mulder the forest will be hit with pesticides and burned until every bug is dead.

Synopsis: Two men are on a ranch in a storm. They find a dead cow. Some crazed animal attacked one of the men. The other shoots it. However, a man is laying shot on the ground instead of an animal. Mulder and Scully visits the man who did the shooting. He tells them what happened. The son’s injuries could not have been caused by a human. The son takes the two out to the corral. On the way, he tells them about all the strangeness that had been going on for the last few months. In the corral, Mulder finds some interesting footprints. He also finds a piece of skin-like material. They head to the reservation to try and examine the body. The Sheriff finds them. The three go to the Sheriff’s office. Mulder asks about the legend that was referenced. Scully sees some interesting scar tissue. Mulder looks at his teeth and finds fangs. Mulder wants to have an autopsy done but the Sheriff refuses. Later that evening, the funeral is beginning. Scully is suspicious of Mulder. He shows her the very first x file. It’s eerily identical to this case and several others in the same area over many decades. Scully explains it away as the psychosis of a person believing they are a werewolf. Scully tries to give her condolences to the deceased sister, but she wants no part of it. However, she gives Scully one of his possessions. As the funeral continues, the son who was attacked, comes to show his respects. Back at Parker’s ranch, the father is smoking on the porch. He hears something and then gets attacked. The next morning, Scully determines he was attacked by a large predator. The son and the sister are both missing. Mulder is walking through outskirts of the ranch. He finds a path of hair and another sample of the same weird skin. Scully is walking around the barn area and is greeted by a mountain lion in a cage. As she walks around she sees the son laying in the field. She brings him back, puts him in the car and takes him to the hospital. Mulder talks with the Sheriff and gets taken to meet someone with answers. At the hospital, Scully talks with the son. He tells her he got drunk and remembers nothing. She breaks the news to him that his father is dead. She also tells him he looks as if he was attacked by animal and she thinks it’s suicide. Mulder speaks with the man who accosted him in the bar. The man speaks of one of the x files that he has, the Watkins case. Watkins had been attacked by an evil spirit that could change them into a beast and it turned him into an evil spirit as well. He then tells of his experience. And also how the curse, or disease, is transmitted and also passed on. They catch Gwen. She tells them that she saw Parker’s murder. She’s hysterical. Mulder calls the hospital to speak with Scully, but he finds that she has left. The doctor tells him that the blood work was strange. Some of his father’s blood type was in him and that can only be ingested. Scully is driving him home and he opens his eyes, they change. Once inside, he tells her he feels sick and asks for help into the bathroom. The Sheriff and Mulder race to get to the house. In the bathroom, he starts to change into the creature. He suddenly breaks through the bathroom door as the monster and scaring the daylights out of Scully. Mulder and the Sheriff arrive. Mulder enters and with his flashlight finds scratches. Mulder goes through the house trying to find Scully. Instead, he catches a glimpse of the monster. He finally finds Scully. As they try to get to safety they hear the growling. Downstairs, the animal jumps at them and the Sheriff shoots it. It’s the son. Back at the Sheriff’s office the three say goodbye. Ish, the man who had the answers also says goodbye, as well as, “see you in about 8 years.”

Synopsis: A pilot is flying over Iraq and he sees something in the sky. He’s suddenly under attack. He locks on with weapons and shoots it down. It crashes in Turkey on an American military base. In Tennessee, a man is driving a semi-truck. His radio station is tuned to a channel where they are talking about alien sightings. His truck is disabled and he opens fire. Mulder and Scully are on scene to investigate. He finds something that triggers his meter and he bags some. Scully tries to explain it away to no avail. His stopwatch test shows two different times. The two meet with the truck driver. Suddenly, the driver, Mulder and Scully are unceremoniously kicked out of the county. The two get on the bus and head out of town. Mulder takes Scully and they go to visit The Lone Gunman. They discuss Gulf War Syndrome and that its caused by a coating used on the missiles. At the office, the two are taking, but Scully finds something that freezes her in her tracks. Mulder is back at his apartment, he puts a blue light in his window as a signal. He gets a call that hangs up and goes to meet with Deep Throat. He wants to know who’s listening to them. Deep Throat gives him a folder. It’s the transcript of what happened to the pilot over Iraq. At the office, Scully storms in stating the truck driver and his story is bogus. Based on what she has found they determine that it was an alien transport. The truck is heading towards Colorado, they will try to intercept it. Mulder returns home to find Deep Throat in his apartment. He gives him more information. It’s a photo of a UFO. Scully determines the photo is fake. Scully puts her briefcase down but leaves it standing, she gets coffee and when she returns it’s laying down. She finds Mulder who tells her she is right; the photo is fake. Mulder meets with Deep Throat again at an aquarium and confronts him about the photo. He’s impressed that he debunked the photo. The transcript was a fake too. At his apartment, Mulder goes on a massive search for any listening bugs. He even takes the covers off of the electric sockets and finds a bug. Scully arrives and he shows it to her. Mulder and Scully are being followed so they take action to lose their tails. At the airport, she buys two tickets, one with her credit card and one with cash. Mulder sees the tail while driving. He runs a light to lose the tail. He heads to the airport too. The two meet in Las Vegas. Scully found the truck, it’s still moving. They finally catch up to it and follow it at a safe distance. Suddenly, the radio goes crazy, there is bright lights and the car stops working. The truck is stopped to and the back doors are open. At the back of the truck there was a holding area for the being that was on the UFO. It’s clearly escaped. Mulder’s stopwatches tell him that it was a hoax again. They go back to the hotel and regroup. The new data they have received shows UFO sightings all along the route that the truck has been taking. While searching a new zone they come upon a group of people having a UFO party. They get infomed of a power plant the aliens have been hovering over. They see the truck driver exit the power plant. Mulder calls The Lone Gunman. He needs them to hack the security and get them in. It works but not for long. He takes off and she provides a distraction. He finds what he is looking for, only it’s an extermination chamber. Deep Throat appears and dismisses the guards. Deep Throat tells him the truth about Roswell and that it let all governments to come to a pact to exterminate them. Deep Throat confirms that he has killed an alien. He gives Mulder information he shouldn’t as a way of atoning for killing it. Both are released.

Synopsis: Scully is at the bank with another agent, staking it out. Outside a pair of bank robbers sit preparing to rob a bank. It happens to be the bank that Scully is in. The agent that is with her gets shot. Scully fires three shots at him, taking him down. The shooter dies in the ER. The FBI agent has been down for 12 minutes. The robbers body bounces as if it’s been shocked just like Jack. Jack’s heart starts beating again. It’s now two days later. Jack wakes up. He pulls out all of his tubes and steals the clothes of another patient. When he looks in the mirror, he sees Jack the FBI guy, but he’s actually the bank robber. He goes to the morgue and looks at his dead body. He takes the wedding ring off. Mulder joins Scully. Scully thinks that Willis has some post trauma psychosis. They discuss his previous job at a women’s prison. He had an affair with an inmate. Mulder realizes that the fingers were cut off to get the wedding ring. Willis heads to wear he and Lula live. Strangely, his tattoo is starting to appear on the arm of his new body. Mulder asks how long Jack was flat lined. He states that both men went into cardiac arrest at the same time. Scully and Mulder go to the University of Maryland to speak with a professor about near death experiences. Scully reveals that she had dated Jack for a year and that they share the same birthday. Jack/Warren goes to visit Lula’s brother. Tommy realizes it’s Warren and then is killed. Mulder and Scully go to the new crime scene. Jack/Warren shows up at the crime scene. Mulder pops in to visit Warren/Jack with a birthday card for Scully. Mulder gives Scully the card, but her birthday is not for two months. Jack/Warren did not know it wasn’t Scully’s birthday. Mulder compares the new signature to a known signature and it doesn’t match. But Scully still doesn’t believe it. Jack/Warren gets a call at his desk, he’s got a tip about the case. Scully goes with him. She is in apartment 207. He sees Lula and heads after her. She runs into the basement and they split up to search for her. Scully finds her and takes her down. Jack/Warren turns on Scully and she finally realizes it’s not actually Jack but Warren. When she awakes she hears Warren taking to Lula trying to prove who he is. Mulder and another agent check the apartment building for Scully and Willis, they have been missing for 12 hours. Warren calls Mulder and lets Scully say one word. Scully starts telling Jack about shared memories. Lula comes in and calms him down. He’s been drinking a lot of soda. Apparently, Jack is diabetic. Warren did not know this and is now symptomatic of impending diabetic coma. Mulder figures out the area that they are most likely in. He steals the insulin but Lula stops her from giving it to him. Lula admits that she set up Warren. She was happy to be rid of him. Lula calls the FBI to try and make a deal. She wants a million dollars in 24 hours. Mulder kept her on the line long enough to trace the call. But Lula called from Scully’s cell phone. Mulder has the audio from the call analyzed. They hear a small plane taking off. In the office several people criticize Mulder, Ruskin defends him. With this information he’s narrowed the area down to 3 square miles. Back in captivity Jack wakes up and talks to Scully. He’s now trying to remember from that memory she was trying to trigger. He passes out and Warren comes back. There is knock at the door. It’s a preacher selling bibles. In fact, it’s an officer who has now confirmed that that is Lula. When Lula comes in Scully tells her that Jack is dead. She drops her wedding ring on him and he suddenly wakes up and grabs her gun. The place is surrounded by FBI and other agencies. He shoots Lula and then dies. The tattoo on his arm fades away. Back at the office Mulder gives Scully the watch she got Jack. Scully is upset though. She notices the watch is not working. It stopped at 6:47, the exact time Jack went into cardiac arrest.

Synopsis: The episode begins in a club. A woman makes a pass at a man. They leave and have sex. He dies afterward. After the woman morphs into a man. Mulder and Scully are called in they are informed of the woman entering but a man leaving. Cause of death: a blown artery. The victim also had extremely high levels of pheromones. This is the fifth in the series. He tells her about a group of people that live isolated. They are linked to the case because of the white clay under the most recent victim’s finger nails. The pair head north to research “The Kindred.” While talking to a merchant they make an appearance in town. Scully tries to talk to one about the horses. He does the hand massage thing that triggers a response. Scully is taken aback. The pair make the trek to the Kindred’s location. After and awkward meeting they share a meal with the Kindred. Back at the club the man who left the last murder scene is on the prowl again. Mulder and Scully leave Kindred only to sneak back. All the members are heading to a large barn. The man who was choking is dead. They are all going under the barn. As Mulder sneaks into the cellar the man Scully met in town finds her. He wants to help. A ceremony is going on in the cellar. The man takes Scully to his room and tells her that the killer use to be his best friend. Back in the cellar the dead man is being coated with a gelatinous glop. Back in the room he tells her about Marty, and barricades the door to show her something. The dead man is moved and everyone leaves. Mulder takes a closer look. Scully is informed that Marty was taken with her world and chose to leave and become one of them. Mulder explores the cellar. He finds crypts that are filled with hardened glop and some empty. Someone comes and he jumps into one to hide. He overhears that Scully has been discovered. But he also notices a body in the hole he jumped into and as he looks at it, it opens its eyes. Scully continues to press the man about the murders. He picks up her hand and does the rubbing gesture and tells her they are all different. He starts to be overly romantic. Mulder rushes in and saves her. When they exit they are met by all of the Kindred. Scully is clearly affected and winds up retching. Back at the club he picks another victim. Mulder and Scully are back in town; he gets her something to drink. So Mulder tells her about the holes in the wall and how it looked like the body was transforming from a man to a woman. Outside the club, ”she” was having sex in a car. An officer stops them and he survives. The pair interview the survivor. He said that she no longer looked like a woman but a man as she fought with the officer. Another office approaches Mulder and Scully one of the victim’s credit cards was being used just blocks away. They rush to the scene. They arrive too late. Scully gets hit on the head and the murderer takes off. Mulder persues and gets hit in the head. He sees the woman transform into a man. Scully comes running out and goes to the alley. She sees shadows. The Kindred have come to collect their member gone bad. Mulder calls her name and she gets knocked down. The Kindred disappear. They head up to the Kindred’s place. Everyone is gone. The place is abandoned. Even the cellar is cemented over. Out in the field there is a giant crop circle.

Synopsis: Scully’s Mom and Dad is visiting her for dinner. Scully fell asleep on the couch; she wakes up to see her dad but she can’t hear him. The phone rings. It’s her mom, her dad passed away. Now we are beside a lake with teenagers making out in a car. An officer knocks on the window and makes them get out. The teen realizes it’s not an officer. At FBI Headquarters Mulder is reading a file. It’s about the kids, they were kidnapped. They have about 5 days to find the kids based on previous cases with the same MO. He brings up a witness who says he’s psychic and can help, but doesn’t believe him. He’s on death row. Mulder has been requested to see him and Scully wants to go with him. Mulder exits the office and Scully pulls an X File on visionary encounters with the dead. At her father’s funeral his ashes are being scattered at sea with the song “beyond the sea” playing. Mulder and Scully go to the prison to meet with Boggs. Mulder gives him a test, he gets a reading and Mulder tells him it was fake. As they leave Boggs starts to sing the song played at the funeral and Boggs turns into her father and says “Did you get my message Starbuck?” She just tells Mulder she’s upset over her father. Scully is driving to the hotel and sees all the things that Boggs talked about. She enters the warehouse and finds everything Boggs described. Scully is in her room and Mulder comes. The family ID’ed the bracelet as belonging to the missing teenage girl. Scully tells Mulder how she actually found the warehouse. They go back to the prison with a fake newspaper saying the kids were found safe. It’s given to Boggs. When he makes his call it’s to Mulder. They are forced to deal with him. He gives them a location and a warning. The girl is found at the location but the assailant takes off in a boat. Mulder gets injured and he’s rushed to the hospital. Liz is able to identify the kidnapper. Scully goes to meet with Boggs one on one and threatens to flip the switch herself on his execution. She gets upset and he says he’ll channel her dad. But it’s a trick. He tells her that the last time he went to the chair he saw his family that he killed and felt their fear. Scully visits Mulder, he doesn’t want Scully to believe Boggs. Scully goes back to Boggs and tells him she got him a deal. He gives her another location, unconvincingly. He tells her he knows she lied. Scully still goes to the location and finds the killer and the male teenager. However, she sees what Boggs told her would be there, but the killer falls to his death. Scully goes back to Boggs and tells him what happened. He asks her to come be his witness tonight at his execution and at that time he’ll give her the message from her father. They take Boggs to the chamber and begin the execution. Scully visits Mulder and they talk.

Synopsis: 70 miles outside of London a husband leaves for work. As he waves goodbye his arm ignites. The fire spreads over his whole body. Back in the states Mulder and Scully find a cassette tape in the car. They play it and it tells them about a case. While listening to the tape one of Mulders old partners from Scotland Yard scares them both. She needs their help though. She tells them about a new arsonist but they can’t figure out how the fires are being lit. The inspector leaves and Mulder tells Scully about their relationship. She teases him a little. The inspector and Mulder show photos of the arsons to the FBI’s arson expert. He’s very intrigued. Next we see a home on Cape Cod. It appears the walls are being painted with rocket fuel. Outside the dog digs up the body of the read caretaker, who is dead. Mulder and Scully are back at the office. Mulder admits to Scully that he hates fire, the inspector knows it and she is playing games with him. Back in Cape Cod the caretaker is peeping on the lady of the house. He walks around to hear their driver coughing. The caretaker goes into town and stops at a bar and he sets it on fire. Mulder and the Inspector go to the hospital to speak to one of the women that was at the bar. When they go back to talk to the witness again she recalls he had an English accent. Scully is hard at work in their office profiling this arsonist. Back at Cape Cod Bob impresses the two kids. Scully goes to speak with the arson expert. Back at Cape Cod the lady of the house asks Bob to drive them into Boston for a party. Scully delves more deeply into the mind of the unsub. Mulder heads to the hotel. Scully calls Mulder to him know she has some suspects and will be heading to Boston to meet him. Bob drives the family to the party. Scully arrives to find the two dancing and doesn’t interrupt…until a fire breaks out on the 14th floor. Mulder goes up 14 flights of stairs. Once on the floor he hears the kids yelling for help, but the smoke, flames and heat or overwhelming. Bob rescues the kids. Scully tends to Mulder who is suffering from major smoke inhalation. Scully shows Mulder what she has found. She discovered a Cecil Lively who was on employed by two of the victims. But he died in 1971. Now somehow he’s in the states. Meanwhile, Scully requests a composite of an arson suspect and sees that its Bob. Bob is waiting in the house when Mulder arrives. He catches the inspector kissing someone else’s’ husband. Scully arrives at the house and informs Mulder it’s the driver. They learn it’s not the driver but the caretaker. Mulder and Scully find the missing driver in the bathroom, he’s dead. The house catches fire. Mulder gets everyone out and heads back for the kids. He finds the kids and dog locked in a room. Bob shows up and triggers another fire. The inspector throws accelerant on Bob. Back upstairs Mulder rescues the kids. Outside Bob staggers around, but then starts laughing manically and he goes up in flames. Back at the office Scully scares Mulder. The arson suspect got admitted to the hospital with 5th and 6th degree burns. He’s actually healing and should recover in as little as a month.
