Synopsis: The guys are preparing to dive off of Smith’s Cove. Tony is with them. He’s dived in the area for years. He shares he’s experiences on where to dive. A team led by Dave has gone back to the 10X bore hole. They are going through all the debris in the sediment tank and putting it through a sieve. They find some wood and what looks like an oak leaf. The theory is that under the island are mines and tunnels, all lined with oak trees. The oak trees on the island are not native, they are believe to be brought by The Knights of the Templar. Still going through the sediment from the tank, they find bones. Alex takes the bones to pack them up for analysis. In Smith’s Cove Marty and Alex prepare to dive and investigate an anomaly on a sonar map. The three descend to 25 feet and begin searching for evidence of anything non-natural. Marty finds a large, rectangular stone, covered in growth. Then a second stone, a bit smaller than the first is found. The dive master finds one as well. So three total are found and they all form a straight line pointing directly at the money pit. The rocks also line up to a rock on the beach. They all meet up at a pub and discuss the dive. The four stones in a line. The discuss the sediment tank. The confirm that more metal was found as well as bones. The plan for the next day is to search for coconut fiber in the cove. It’s believed that the coconut fiber was on the island to filter the drain system. Digging commences in the Cove in the coconut fiber hunt. They drain some water out of the area so that they can dig. Dan leads the dig in the spot he believes the fibers to be. He does indeed find coconut fiber. They take some with them to show Rick and Marty. They give Rick the news. The water is an issue and they’ll get a pump. They show him the coconut fiber. Rick is thrilled. All the samples are taken to Acadia University to get tested. Historical information: The Knights Templar have grown too rich and are now being hunted as a threat. Those that are caught are burned to death. The Templar’s treasure has never been found. There were 12-14 ships with treasure that escaped. The second theory is that it’s a Spanish ship that did repairs on the island and buried some of its treasure there. The professor compares known coconut fibers to the fibers found on the island. Back at the 10X bore hole the sifting continues. Dave and Rick are finding rust and chicken bones. It’s gets a bit contentious. Rick decides to design a better system for sifting. At the college the professor is analyzing the fibers. He confirms that what they found in Smith’s Cove is indeed coconut fiber. Alex calls Rick to give him confirmation that the fibers are coconut fibers. In the war room they discuss results. They had the coconut fiber on the beach dated, it’s from 1260-1400 AD, with 95% accuracy.
