Synopsis:
The girls are waiting for the contractor to arrive. He’s late again. He arrives and leaves. Dorothy gave him an ultimatum and he quit. Al arrives. He announces he has finally retired and sold the deli. He heads out and Rose confesses she is falling in love with him. They are all frustrated because family is coming to visit in a few weeks, and they have nowhere to put them. It’s another day and Rose comes back from a date with Al upset. All he wants to do is sit around and watch television now. Sophia comes in with an old man in a wheelchair. She announces he’s going to do the garage. He’s going to instruct them on how to finish it as its already half done. Everyone agrees. Rose has a date with Al to go to the movies, but he cancels it. Rose can take no more and has a conversation with Al about his retirement. He gets upset and leaves. They begin in the garage. Vincenzo pinches Blanche’s butt. Al comes over the next day and tells Rose he did have a dream to sail around the world. He bought a boat and hired a crew. He spent his entire life savings. Rose is shocked. He invites her to join him. Rose can’t sleep and makes cookies at 2am. Everyone winds up in the kitchen discussing Al’s decision and purchase. The next day Vincenzo arrives with a crew. They are just as old as him. They go back to discussing Al and the trip. Rose still hasn’t decided what she is going to do. Rose tells them she is going to sail around the world with Al. Everyone goes to the boat for a small party. Rose finally finds Al and tells him she will go with him. He tells her he can’t go because he’s seasick. She suggests Space Mountain at Disney World, describes it and makes him sicker. Another day and Rose goes on a picnic with Al. Vincenzo tells them he is done. They go in and it’s a garage not a bedroom. He offers to fix it. Sophia accidently promises Dorothy’s hand in marriage to him.
