Summary:
Sophia has lost her glasses. She’s using binoculars so she can see to drive. But she has no license. Blanche asks Dorothy to help her sort through some papers. She’s joining a club and needs to authenticate her family tree. Dorothy is horrified. Blanche tells stories of what growing up was like. Barbara Weston comes over regarding Sophia’s police report about lost glasses. Rose is getting ready for her date with Karl. She’s told him about Miles and Dorothy points out how dangerous that is for Miles. Dorothy and Blanche continue sorting her family documents. Dorothy discovers that she has a relative from Buffalo and is part Yankee. Dorothy teases her considerably about this. Meanwhile, Karl is really pushing Rose for information about Miles. He even asks her to go away with him for the weekend, but she’s not sure. She goes into the house and finds Miles in disguise and looking very Amish. It’s his new identity and he hates it. Blanche enters the living room and thinks he is a rabbi. Miles has put Rose in a difficult position. She’s trying to move on and he still wants to be with her but he can’t in the current situation he is in. Rose and Karl are at a restaurant another evening and he makes a call. He thinks he’s gonna get Rose to blab on Miles and he’s made a call to be ready to get out of the country. Blanche is at her banquet to join her club. When Karl comes back to the table, Rose spills that Miles is back and at her house. At Blanche’s group, they begin with people’s family trees to get in. It’s not going well for most applicants. It’s Blanche’s turn. It goes badly. She even begs. But does not get in. Back at the house, Miles learns Rose is seeing someone else. He decides to leave the witness protection program so he can be with Rose. Karl comes back in and Miles recognizes him as the Cheesman. The two fight a bit verbally and Rose thinks they are fighting over her. Miles informs Rose that Karl is the Cheeseman. All the girls freak out. The doorbell rings and Barbara has brought back Sophia’s glasses. She puts them on and sees Karl and she recognizes the cheeseman instantly. Sophia tells him he’s getting arrested because Barbara is a cop. She does wind up arresting him after a distraction. She doesn’t have cuffs, but Blanche lets her borrow a pair. Miles is overjoyed. He’s a free man and can come back. They happily reunite.
