+Rose: You’ve already turned down about 12 people. They’re either too thin or too pretty or too young. It’s like you only want to live with a woman who has no sex appeal whatsoever. You think we’re dogs, don’t you?
+Truby: He’s dead, sweetie. But, hey, I’m used to it. I put three in the ground. Well, what can I tell you? I like ’em old, rich and barely breathing.
+Truby: I always get nervous at weddings. Weddings and funerals. I’ve been to so many of both. I get mixed-up. Same guest list, same flowers, handful of rice, handful of dirt. The only difference is, after the funeral it’s OK to date.
Blanche: I’m beginning to like her.
+Sophia: You’ve got a second chance. But if you hurt my daughter again, I’ll make you miserable for the rest of my life. And if I lay off meat and dairy, that could be as much as five years.
+Dorothy: You want me to sign a pre-nuptial agreement? You want me to sign a pre-nuptial agreement? Stanley, whatever happened to openness and honesty and trust? Not to mention the 38 years that I spent as your wife, your partner, the mother of your children. Dorothy: God, this has always been my worst nightmare.
Truby: A wedding falling apart at the last minute?
Dorothy: No, going on a honeymoon with my mother.
Summary:
Dorothy is going to see Stan. Sophia is not happy. Rose comes back and informs them Myra is getting worse. Sophia tries to set Dorothy up with another man. It’s another day and Blanche oversleeps. She has interviews for a new house mate lined up for when Dorothy moves out and lives with Stan. Dorothy wants to take Sophia with her and she would prefer to stay. She’s got a job interview at McDonald’s to help pay her rent. Rose comes back upset. Her brakes went out and she almost died. She thinks Myra tampered with her brakes. A phone call comes in. Rose thinks it’s Myra but it’s Chuck for Blanche. Blanche has a lady coming over to see the room. She asks them to behave. She’s already turned down a dozen people. They were too young, too pretty….too much competition for Blanche. Truby arrives to meet everyone. She has quite a story with three dead husbands. The wedding rehearsal is taking place at the same time. Sophia interrupts thinking it is the actual wedding, but it’s not. The next day things for the wedding start to arrive. Even the flowers Sophia thought she canceled. Rose tells a St. Olaf story to try and cheer Sophia up. It doesn’t work, but it gives Blanche a jumping off point. The girls see Dorothy in her wedding dress and think she looks beautiful. Blanche and Rose talk a bit about their own weddings. Dorothy describes her first wedding to Stan. Everyone was crying for different reasons. They help her get ready. Dorothy is queasy like at her first wedding, this time she’s not pregnant though. Sophia shows up after all. She warns Stan to treat Dorothy righ this time. Myra shows up. She is going to stop bothering Rose and move into Shady Pines. Stanley arrives with his lawyer who is also his best man. He wants Dorothy to sign a massive prenup agreement. Instead of signing it she whacks him on the head with it, calls off the wedding and throws him out. She announces she has decided not to make the same mistake twice. Stan gave her the Aruba tickets so she and Sophia go and enjoy the trip.
