Summary:
Blache’s picture is in the paper she is the chair of the Citrus Festival Ball. They stated she is 35 instead of her real age. She went on a “date” with the writer twice. Sophia is looking for a part time job. She wants to rent out rooms for the festival weekend to get a big screen TV but Blanche says no. Blanche’s father calls. He wants her to come visit. She tells him she can’t this week because she is the queen of a ball. She tells him she will call him on monday. Blanche gets a delivery and is excited to show everyone her Citrus Festival plate. Another call comes in for Blanche. It’s Virginia. She tells Blanche her father has passed away. Blanche makes arrangements to go visit Big Daddy. She thinks Virginia is playing a joke on her. Dorothy decides to go with her just in case. Blanche eats lima beans with ketchup that night. That’s how Big Daddy liked them. She is upset. Blanche and Dorothy arrive at the family mansion in Atlanta. She tells Dorothy a few stories. Virginia joins them. The two get into a fight. Back at the house, Rose finds strangers in the house eating fruit off Blanche’s plate. Sophia has rented out everyone’s room so she can get her big screen TV. She forces Rose to go along with it. Back in Atlanta, Blanche shows Dorothy the family picture album. Dorothy teases her about being overweight as a child. Blanche tells her how her father always thought she was beautiful and proud of her. And now that presence is gone. She doesn’t want to go the funeral because she doesn’t want him to be dead. Dorothy calls to check in and Sophia freaks out. After the call ends, the plate gets broken. Blanche does not go to the funeral but goes to the grave after. She has a chat with Big Daddy and apologizes for her behavior and tells him how much she loves him. Sophia is thrilled she made $1700. She wants to blame the broken plate on Rose to keep the money she made. Rose refuses to play along with that. She’s tracked down another plate. The guy wants $1700 for it. Sophia has to hand her money over. Blanche and Dorothy arrive as he is leaving. Blanche breaks the plate herself. Sophia is devastated.
