Summary:
Sophia is playing cards with the girls. Her friend had a heart attack and so their plans got canceled. Rose, however, has a date. Blanche is jealous that Rose has a date and not her. Sophia gets a letter from Uncle Vito, it has a feather in it. Rose’s date arrives and the two leave. Sophia is still jumpy about the feather she received the next day. She finally tells Dorothy she has to finish a family vendetta. Rose is a month into her relationship with Ernie and they still haven’t been intimate. Rose is confused by this. Blanche suggests she asks him to go away for the weekend. Ernie arrives and he asks Rose to go away for a weekend before she can. It’s now Rose’s weekend. She and Ernest have a serious talk about how he can’t function as a man. Rose, bening Rose, suggests they go see what’s playing at the movie theater. At the house, Sophia tries to call Sonny (from the vendetta) and hangs up as a prank. Rose returns and tells the girls what happened with Ernie. They try to cheer her up. Later she goes to dinner with him and there is a conversation about getting a souffle to rise. Erine thinks she is going to break up with him. It turns out to be the opposite and his problem somehow fixes itself and they race from the restaurant. The next day Dorothy is reading the newspaper and learns of a dead body on the beach and a purse that matches Sophia’s nearby. Dorothy questions Sophia. Turns out she just left a dead fish at his door. But he was kind of cute, so she added in a kiss of death and had a romantic afternoon. Rose comes into the kitchen in a happy mood. She tells them it was Ernie. They congratulate her. Another evening and Rose and Ernie are out on a date. However, he breaks up with her to try and get back together with his ex-wife.
