Synopsis:
Sophia is cranky because her social security check is late. Rose got tickets to a musical and she is excited. She invites Dorothy but she says no. She is teaching adult school for people who didn’t complete their high school diploma. Blanche has another date with a man they have not met yet. The doorbell rings. It’s him. He’s an old man. Everyone is shocked. Sophia recognizes his face from a cigar box. It was his father. The two leave on their date. Everyone is shocked Blanche is dating someone that old. Dorothy is now in her night class and taking roll. Dorothy is completely shocked to find that Rose is enrolled. Rose then leads them all in the pledge of allegiance. At the house, Rose is worried about how she is doing in history class. She and Dorothy discuss her high school history teacher. Blanche interrupts them upset. She tells them Fidel is seeing another woman. She doesn’t understand why he isn’t satisfied with her. The four all go out to dinner. Another evening and Blanche sees Fidel with another woman. She confronts him and finds he is with Sophia. The two get into a fight and both decide to keep dating Fidel. The two fight each time one is going out with Fidel. It’s been going on for weeks. Sophia plays a trick on Blanche to get her to give up Fidel and it works. Later, Dorothy brings Rose milk and cookies. This freaks her out because Dorothy does this when she has really bad news. She tells Rose she failed the history test. The two start going over questions on the test. Rose says she got the one about the leader of the Nazi’s correct. She points out Adolf Hitler and calls him by her high school history teachers name and identifies Eva Braun as well. She was her PE teacher. With this question now correct, she is a high school graduate. Sophia is getting ready for a date with Fidel. He made the same date at the same time with Blanche. A phone call cancels the date. Fidel is dead. The two feel guilty for killing him. They go to the funeral and its all women, lots of women. The priest begins but Sophia interrupts him. She asks who is Fidel’s girlfriend? Ever single woman raises their hand. Sophia then gives a touching eulogy for Fidel.
