Synopsis: Fran enters the kitchen in the dress she bought for Mr. Sheffield opening night. However, she can’t sit or bend in it. Maggie tries on one of Fran’s dresses but doesn’t approve of it. Grace freaks out when Brighton tells her you can see up her dress on her shoe reflection. Brighton tries to get Fran to let him go to Jersey with the guys. Brighton tries to kiss up to Max to go to the mall. He gives in and lets him go. Fran catches him though. In Max’s office, Niles is polishing the leather couch. He does such a good job CC slides right off. Fran discusses Brighton with Max. Now she is upset at him instead of Brighton. He demonstrates some sexism. Fran tells him the mall he’s going to is in Jersey and then he gets upset. That evening, Fran tells Niles he’s going whether he likes it or not. The doorbell rings and it’s Kyle. Max informs him that when Fran says no, it means no. An older boy comes in and kisses Max’s tush and saying he’s the driver. Fran tells him he’s a decoy. She busts him. He works at The Gap. Max grounds him and tells him he’s not going to the show tonight. Fran, however, tells him that’s too harsh and he deserves to go to the play. She gets him back into the play again. The show is over and they go to dinner. The restaurant they go to is having a strike. Fran refuses to cross the picket line. They take a picture of Max trying to pull Fran into the restaurant. The next day, Fran goes into the kitchen and thinks it’s Niles in the fridge. Niles walks in though and she nearly drops dead. She’s also already cut the article out of the newspaper. Fran tries to kiss up to Max to get back on his good side. CC runs into the kitchen with good news, the tickets are selling like hot cakes. A local talk show has also invited on Sally Jessy Raphael. On the talk show, she shows that infamous picture. Fran is in the audience and Sally asks her to join them on stage. She doesn’t realize she is asked a question because she is too busy looking at herself on the tv screen. An audience member points out that Max stated Fran is important to them. Back at the house, Max tells her their appearance got the strike settled.
