Synopsis: A bank is being robbed. The robber kills a security guard. He makes everyone takeoff their clothes. JJ briefs the team at the BAU. Haley pops into the office. She was at the hospital with Jack. He has a condition that is treatable. Hotch completely forgot about it and was a no show. He apologizes and rushes to the plane. On the plane, they try to break down why the unsub is picking these banks and also why he’s making them do things. Gideon and Morgan head to the bank when they land. Reid works on a geographical profile. Elle starts working on video. At the bank, they run through the crime. Garcia gets the footage of the crime scenes. The people he put together, there were 13. All were varied ages, races, genders and backgrounds. The most recent scene, the security tapes were erased. At the station, Garcia calls in. There is a height difference with the first three crimes and the fourth. They interview the bank manager. He admits he erased the tapes. In Garcia’s office, she is upset because of he discrepancy. As she paces her feet hurt and she takes off her heels. It gives her an idea. The robber was wearing lifts in his boots. It’s just one unsub, not two. Back at the station, they deliver the profile. An officer walks into the briefing and tells them about a robbery in progress where the robber makes them undress. Everyone races to the new scene. As the robber leaves, he attacks a meter maid. The team arrives to find her down. They attempt to pursue him but he escapes. The team analyzes the newest scene and it’s bad. Hotch sits in the car watching video of his son’s first steps. Reid, Elle and JJ are going over suspects at the station. They track down a suspect in a bar, and take him in for questioning. Meanwhile, the bank robber is now taking over a small café. A call to Elle is well timed. He learns the unsub has struck again. The video is gruesome. Hotch is actually upset and shows it. Hotch talks to the bank manager again. His family is there too, but now they want nothing to do with him. The son tells Gideon and Hotch that the robber apologized after. They have to readjust the profile. Reid thinks its some kind of play based on a type of therapy going on in prison. Garcia is able to narrow it to one person. Some of the team go to visit his mother. The unsub’s sister died 12 years ago of a suicide, this is when the unsub started spiraling out of control. She gives them a hotel. They break down the door to his room but he’s not there. His bike is there, but he’s not. He’s on foot. He’s also pretty high. The unsub sees a birthday party in a backyard and he crashes it. Some of the team arrives and Hotch saves a little boy with his well-placed shoulder shot. On the plane, Gideon and Hotch talk. Gideon tries in his way to comfort him, but doesn’t succeed.
