Synopsis: The team is at C1. They are putting a camera down it to see what they can see. In the bottom they don’t’ see any shiny gold things, but they do see an object that looks like a shiny rock. Also, there are marks that look like 90 degree angles. As they go farther down the hole, visibility worsens. They pull up the camera and decide to hammer grab and run sonar, a diver is also possible. Charles and Gary Drayton go to Lot 24 to investigate. It’s one of the lots owned by Samuel Ball. They metal detect and find a button, six coins and a lead ingot for making musket balls. Marty joins them. He’s excited about what was found. The group gets together in the war room and meet with Randall Sullivan. He thinks he has identified the architect of Oak Island’s mystery. He thinks it’s Francis Bacon who spearheaded whatever is hidden on Oak Island. He also thinks that something more valuable than gold is hidden on the island. The next day everyone is back at C1, the hammer grab is being lowered down. Dan joins the group. As they go through the spoils of the first grab they find something they cannot identify and ask Dan to identify it. He says its old decaying wood and its interesting and should be saved. Rick finds something else. Dan calls it odd as hell and also states it’s not bedrock. He also says the rock that was pulled out doesn’t belong either. He’s never seen it in his 50 years of digging on the island. Up comes the second scoop and wood is sticking out. Charles finds more wood in the spoils. Rick wants to send a sonar down as well as an ROV. Back in the war room more discussion takes place on the next steps. Rick wants John to come back and dive it. They call John and his team to ask them to dive it and they accept.
