Synopsis: Rick and Marty and the key members of the team meet with Fred Nolan. Mr. Nolan and Mr. Blakenship were basically competing to be the first to find the treasure. And this led to the feud. Fred tells them that he surveyed the entire island via a grid search. His theory is that during the American Revolution in the colonies that four ships from the British Military took four ships of treasure and some of it was hidden on Oak Island. Fred is now on the team. Fred joins them in the war room. He shows them a map that he has that contains 40 to 50 years of his data. His research began in 1961. He examined all the surface clues and marked everything on his map. However, this map is just one of four that he has compile. He gives them their next location to investigate. The next day they bring a drilling rig to Fred’s site. However, the site is clear on the ground, but the tree canopy will not let the drill set up. Marty drives over an excavator and knocks down the branches that are in the way. Fred drives up right as the rig begins to drill. After a depth of about 10 feet the drill should reach a cavity. The driller informs Marty that there is metal in the hole. They drop a small hi def camera down the hole to try and determine what’s interfering with the drill. They visually confirm metal at 10 to 12 feet. They continue to 30 feet and still no cavity. They send the rig off and Marty brings in the excavator. He digs up one side of the site and finds nothing, so he tries the other side. Marty’s digging could not find any metal at all at the depth the driller found it. They do find a piece of wood with a point on one side. It’s clearly man made. The next day they take the piece of wood to Dan’s house to show him. They fill him in on the drilling at Nolan’s site. Rick brings a guest to the island, David MacDonald. He wrote the article on the Money Pit that Rick and Marty read. It’s the article that started the treasure hunt for Rick, Marty and many others. He learned of the island from stories his father told him. Rick takes him to the war room to meet everyone. With him he’s brought a collection of items to share with everyone. Dan confirms that if he had never read the article he would never have come to Oak Island. They all visit the monument erected to honor those who have lost their lives to the island. A time capsule is going to be filled and buried at the site. They each put something into the capsule. Now that everything is in the capsule, Dave welds it shut and then Marty uses one of the excavators to bury it.
