Synopsis: Four months earlier… We get a recap of the previous season, with the dive going bad and the mapping of the underground cavern with sonar.

Marty’s goal this year is to address the swamp, the money it and 10X. They plan to send a diver to the cavern, but they have to clear out the rusted pipes first so divers can pass. The brothers suit up to gown down the shaft and remove debris. The metal casing has rusted from the salt water over the last 40 years. The pipe they plan to remove must be secured by a rope, so that as they cut it doesn’t fall down in the shaft. Rick starts to climb out of the basket and Dave hollers at him to get back in the basket. With the pipe now tied to the platform, Rick gets back in the basket. The pipe cut is complete and the brothers are brought back up. The hook the pipe up to the crane and pull up the riser pipe. A new day and they meet with the Leonard brothers. Dan joins them. They use nuclear magnetic resonance. They show the map to the team. Blue lines are tunnels that are not flooded, green are tunnels that are. The map also shows old wood, bronze, silver, gold, rubies, ivory, and diamonds. Marty wants to believe it, but remains skeptical. Dan drilled over 100 tunnels and many did have voids. He used a method called “dousing” to find them. The map has areas that are consistent with Dan’s dousing. They go out with Jack and Charles to check out a point that comes up as gold at 108 feet. At the location they do a resistivity test. So far the test is coming up empty. The final test does show a tunnel. The whole team comes out to the spot. The spot is marked with a white pole. They will search it once they get the right equipment. Back to 10X we go. They have the sonar techs again. This camera device can go to a depth of 1000 feet. At 181 feet there is a lot of debris. They are able to get it into the chamber. It gets to the bottom and there are items at the bottom that are glinting and appear to be gold. A meeting in the war room takes place. The shaft has to be checked for stability and cleared of debris. They are told the shaft structure is in great shape. The results of the sonar scan from last season are back. They are able to see a 3D picture of the bottom of the shaft, the chamber. It also shows two wooden posts. There is also another shape that is about 2 x 3 feet and is box shaped. The body also shows up and is headless. Dan believes they may have taken off his head. It’s where they pulled all the chain up and he believes they broke it and it was attached to the dead person. Now they want to figure out how to get down there, safely.
