Synopsis: The swamp is getting drained. Once drained it’s GPR time. This GPR will detect anything man-made up to 30 feet below the surface. They will be checking the area close to the shore. They had previously found a flat surface in the same area where the precious metal hits came up last time. Back at the drill hole that came up with wood Marty is leading another test. They are looking for 996 feet from the money pit to the swamp to pin down a location. Marty and the GPS expert trudge through some high growth to find the spot. X marks the spot where the chamber should be. At the swamp they are putting down boards to get back to where they were investigating the mercy point. Part of the swamp didn’t completely drain so they can’t run the GPR on the mercy point area. They decide to switch up the drain pumps to try and get that area drained. They get more water drained from the swamp and slog through it to get to the stake. They run the GPR from the stake marking X and continue to the mercy point in the swamp. They get a positive reading at X marks the spot. Marty wants to run the GPR on that spot a few more times to confirm it. They get a second positive reading in the same area. Marty is not convinced. He opts to wait until the GPR data is processed and analyzed. Marty and Rick go to the swamp to discuss the searches done to date. Marty states he wants to quit the swamp and Rick is not having it. Marty brings data analysis of the swamp to an end. Rick needs to pick a spot to dig at the swamp. They decide to select two sites. They have a mini meeting in the war room with a teleconference with J Hutton Pulitzer the treasure hunter. The next plan they are moving forward with is a dive on 10X, which is believed to be a back door to the money pit. However, when 10X reached a depth of 60 feet, it flooded. They still manage to get to a depth of 240 feet, by hand. The team builds a 12 x 12 wood platform over the 10X shaft to function as a staging area. The water in 10X is still green from the dye. They have to pump it out or dilute it enough so that the divers can see. Dan leads the building of the platform. When they finish Rick jumps up and down and it doesn’t move. For Dan, he wants to finish 10X and see what’s down there to honor his mother and to solidify his fathers legacy. Now they need to make the shaft safe for divers to go down. A crane is brought in with a special steel cage. Rick will be lowered into the shaft and use a blow torch to cut away any material that could cause issues for the divers. He puts on a hard hat to protect his head from debris falling off the side of the tunnel. He reports that the ladder is rusted out. There is considerably more rust than he had first thought.
