Synopsis: The episode begins with a recap of the core samples, which match the description of the treasure vault discovered by Chapel. Rick states he knows of two flood tunnels, but they need to figure out if there are anymore. A plan needs to be devised on how to stop the water. They contemplate another dye test. Previous tests had dye coming out at three locations. There is a connection to the island in Monstsegur, France. Marty and his son Alex go to France to meet an author named Kathleen McGowan. She believes she knows what the treasure is and where it came from. They arrive at Montsegur. This mountain was the home to the Cathars, monks who could date themselves back to the time of Jesus. They had the most sacred treasures including the ark of the covenant and holy grail. She speaks of the history where the Pope authorized a crusade to kill all the Cathars. Two hundred or so Cathars chose not to surrender immediately but asked for a two week truce. During that time they gave all the treasures to the Knights Templar. They go up to see the actual ruins. It’s a lot smaller than it looks. The treasure was taken down the side of the mountain on a pulley system safely into the hands of the Templars. Back at the island Rick, Dan, Dave and Tony are at the island’s south shore plotting out a dye test. Back in France they have gone to their next location: Rennes-Le-Chateau, France. Kathleen believes the sacred items were held at this location before they were transferred to Oak Island. She takes them to meet a Templar named Toby. Toby confirms there was a treasure, it did contain historic items and items of Christianity and that this treasure has never been found. King Philip was deeply in debt in the early 1300’s. He wanted the treasure of the Templars and the French Jews so that he could be solvent again. October 13, 1307 he ordered the Templars arrested and had them burned at the stake. Toby’s conclusion is that the Templars fleet traveled to Oak Island to hide the treasure. This took place at least a century before Christopher Columbus discovered the new world. The proof is that there are Templar tombs on Oak Island. They would be marked by a plate with a sword in the middle and no name. Marty confirms they have found something similar. There was a stone in Nolan’s Cross buried below ground. It had a face with a sword carved on it. The next day back on the island Rick prepares for the dye test. They also bring in a helicopter for an aerial view of the dye test. Members of the team are sent to different locations to keep an eye out for the dye, it’s green. To do the test they are pumping water into 10X to get water to flow through the flood tunnels and into the ocean. In France the visit the church at the Château. The church was built about 800 AD. It’s been the topic of mystery and speculation. Some believe it is also the final resting place of Mary Magdalene. Kathleen states that every aspect of the church serves a purpose. A statue depicting Jesus’ baptism includes corn. Corn was not in the holy land in the first century. Alex tells them that another cipher on the 90 foot stone speaks of corn. The dye test is up and running on the island. Tony and Dan Henske are watching the northern side of the island, Charles and Jack are at the South Shore and Rick is in the air. After two hours of pumping the green dye in 10X they aren’t seeing any dye yet, but they plan to be patient and watch for at least four hours. Rick is not giving up hope. The helicopter pilot suggests flying higher for a better prospective. The green dye is now spotted just off Smith’s Cove. Rick directs them to the spot in the cove. They drop a weight with a marker on top of where it’s coming out. However, that location also has seaweed. It turns out that there was no dye that seeped out into the ocean. The next stop in France is Alet-Les-Bains, it’s 7 miles north of the Cheateu. Kathleen shows them an Abby built on top of a temple. It’s said to have held the most sacred treasures of the Christians and the Jews. She goes on to say that the Nazi’s came to this Abby en masse searching for the Ark of the Covenant. Hitler believed it to be the ultimate weapon. Toby meets them there and gives them a tour. He shows them a statue that links the Knights Templar, the Rosicrucian’s, the Illuminati and Free Masons. Symbols that link to the Free Masons can be found on Oak Island. Kathleen says the next stop is Scotland. The Templars went there next with the treasure. On the island the day starts earlier in the war room for an early conference call. They’ll be talking to Marty and Alex in France. Rick updates Marty about the dye test and tells him it didn’t work. Marty tells them about all the great things they’ve seen and that they are heading to Scotland. Marty invites Rick to come, he wants him to see it too. Rick is on his way to Scotland.
