Summary:
Blanche has had breakfast with her daughter. Sophia skipped a doctor’s appointment. Sophia thinks doctors are dangerous. The neighbor down the street went and died a few days later. Dorothy reminds Sophia that she made her get all her vaccinations. Then tries to use her mom’s tricks against her, but Sophia isn’t falling for it. Blanche is happy at how well her visit has gone with Becky. Becky tells her she is getting artificially inseminated. Blanche is horrified. Rebecca explains that her biological clock is ticking like crazy. Blanche tells her to wait till she is dead. They get into a fight. Blanche goes into the kitchen. She tells the girls. Everyone is grossed out. Rose tells a story about the farm animals. Then Sophia tells the story of how she got pregnant with Dorothy. Then Rose talks about how each of her children were conceived on a St. Olaf holiday. Then Dorothy tells how her first child was conceived and she states she was unconscious. Later, Rebecca joins the girls in the kitchen, she’s looking for Blanche. They tell her Blanche has a headache and is lying down. Blanche walks in moments later. She is still upset. Rebecca would like to include her. She voices her concern that a man won’t want to marry her with a baby. She counters she doesn’t want to wait for a man to come along, she wants to make her own life choices. Blanche disagrees. Rebecca tells her that she may lose her daughter and grandchild. Later, Dorothy informs Sophia she has rescheduled her doctor’s appointment. The next day they all go to the sperm bank to speak with the doctor about the process. Days later, Rebecca is preparing to head back to her home. Blanche is hiding out on the lanai. Blanche finally apologizes to Rebecca regarding her decision. They make up.
