Summary:
Sophia and Dorothy get in a fight about the chocolates in the kitchen. Dorothy’s date has canceled on her for Valentine’s Day and she is upset. Blanche comes up and her date has canceled as well. Rose comes out and feels bad that the two don’t have a date while she still does. But the phone rings and her date has canceled on her now too. They begin to discuss previous Valentines Days. Sophia tells a story about when she and Sal were driving to a wedding in California. The car breaks down and Sal stops at a shop. He borrows tools to try and fix it himself since the mechanic is busy. There’s gunfire in the shop and he decides to push the car. Everyone is now in a bad mood so they decide to eat ice cream. Next they tell the story of when they went to a mountain lodge for Valentines Day but it was actually a nudist camp. Blanche is thrilled with the views. But they go to a meal naked when it’s supposed to be fully clothed. They get embarrassed when they are told they should dress for all meals. They continue to mope around the house. Blanche reminds them that Valentine’s Day was when George proposed to her. She tells a story of going to a bar to celebrate after George’s passing and how she helped a young man muster up the courage to propose to the person he loved. It just happened to be a man. Then the girls talk about a Valentine’s Day cruise they went on together with their boyfriends. They went shopping before they left. Rose and Dorothy got in a yelling match about condoms that brought fear to the checker. But he got back at them by asking for a price check on the condoms over the store’s speaker system. Suddenly, the doorbell rings. It’s all three men who canceled on the girls. They thank Sophia for being in on the prank. She refuses to go with them. She says her date is still coming and it’s Julio Iglesias. They don’t believe her. Moments after they leave he shows up at the back door.
