Summary:
Dorothy’s date is late. Sophia has set her up with a blind date and he’s late. Rose has a box of brochures for the Be A Pal program. Blanche decides to be part of it as well. Of course, Blanche wants to see a picture of the father first. Dorothy’s date finally arrives. His name is Eddie and he’s a sad little man. The next morning, Dorothy comes in to the kitchen (she had not come home) and Rose and Blanche are quite curious. She tells them about her date. He took the two to his ex-wife’s restaurant and begged her to take him back. She tells them she comforted him all night long and they are meeting for lunch. Everyone is confused. It’s another day and two girls arrive from the Be A Pal program. They ask if they can go to the movies. Blanche and Rose agree. Blanche wants to freshen her makeup and offers to give the girls some makeup lessons as she does it. Dorothy returns home from her lunch with Eddie. She confesses to Rose the relationship is purely physical. Eddie is a love making machine. It’s another day and another date. Sophia finds it odd that Dorothy is going to eat before her date, instead of going out to eat with Eddie. Another day and everyone is chatting. Sophia starts to ask about Eddie. It turns out Rose told the secret. And Sophia does not like what Dorothy is doing. She tries to guilt her into ending the relationship with Eddie. They get into a fight and Dorothy stands her ground against her overbearing mother. Another day and Blanche and Rose take the girls shopping. LIttle do they know the two are happily shoplifting. They hand their bags off to Rose and Blanche, and the pair get help for shoplifting. They don’t get home until very late. They have to go back to court at noon the next day. Dorothy gets in about the same time as them. Sophia was home and never answered the phone. Blanche and Rose try to get the girls to go to court and tell the truth. They refuse as they have a record already. Blanche bribes them but it costs her $150. They leave to confess the truth. A few days later, Eddie comes over and Dorothy has decided to end it with him. However, she is still caught in his pull. While attempting to end it with him, Rose and Blanche throw themselves at him too. Even Sophia jumps on him.
