Synopsis: The mining season is about halfway through. They’re excited because they have finally found some gold in the western tunnel. Bucket and Jay are working the eastern tunnel and making it safe for the miners to work there. Suddenly, Bucket and Eddie have issues. The air compressor has stopped working. Bucket exits the tunnel to check on the compressor and it is working but the air is not getting the machinery. Dingus and Jay’s head lights both go out. They can’t see at all. Bucket has a lighter they use to see where they are going. They find Eddie and Bucket coming out and tell them about the situation and the two head in to find them. They make it out safely. Getting the jackleg operational is now top priority. While the mine is empty Patrick and Kristen head into the mine to investigate. Stan gives the mine owner an update. In the mine Kirsten believes she heard a voice and they head towards it. The temperature drops very low, only 39 degrees. Patrick decides to do an EVP session. The K2 machine spikes repeatedly. Patrick says he’s getting names. Patrick and Kirsten come out of the mine and it’s nearly 10pm. The miners are around the campfire and invite Kristen and Patrick to join them. Greybeard and the rest of the team thank the two for helping Jay’s family. Dingus apologizes for giving them a hard time. The next day the jackleg is running and drilling continues. Kirsten and Patrick head to their shack to analyze the evidence from the previous night’s investigation. When they check the evidence they see a dark shadow right behind Eddie when the jackleg stops working. Work continues in the western tunnel but slowly because of the undersized mucker. Kristen has learned through research that Native Americans have been in the area for a long time. She meets with Junior who tells her what the valley looked like before the miners came. He tells her of the big dredges and how it destroyed the land. The dredge left a scar down the valley one mile wide and eight miles long. Jamal gets to leave the kitchen to learn some basics. Kristen and Patrick head over to the dredge. They are shocked at how massive it is. They speak to a Ranger and she tells them of Joe, a ghost who haunts the dredge. There was also another man who got sucked into the gears and died. The third story takes place on Christmas Eve. Two guards heard a door and steps and no one was there. Patrick and Kristen get permission to do an overnight investigation on the dredge. Kristen does an EVP session in the gear room. They start getting activity. Kirsten thinks she heard a man’s voice, a moaning sound. Also, several K2 spikes all the way into the red. Kristen says Joe’s name and the K2 starts going crazy. Footsteps are heard upstairs. It actually sounds like someone is running. Patrick goes towards the footsteps. They go upstairs and Patrick tells Kristen that he saw a man staring at him, a full body apparition. One of the doors opens by itself. They are at the top with a thermal and they both see the full body apparition on the thermal. They wrap up the investigation and head back to their shack to go through the footage. The next morning they have a meeting with the crew. They show the footage of the full body shadow next to Eddie. The EVP session with the name of Joe is discussed. Kirsten discusses the Native American aspect and the dredge. Patrick speaks of the Ranger and how she told them of Joe. Then he shows them the footage from the thermal. After the meeting work in the mine continues.
