Synopsis: A lady at work is online searching for a Datsun Z. She sets up a test drive, but becomes trapped and kidnapped. Hotch and Haley are trying to pick out baby names, but he gets called in. Morgan is in a bar flirting when he gets the call. Gideon is giving a lecture at Quantico about The Footpath Killer, when Reid pops in to pull him out. Hotch informs Gideon he’ll be going with the team to Seattle. They leave for Seattle, the unit chief wants Hotch to assess Gideon. They discus the most current of four kidnappings/murders on the flight. The kidnapped woman is in a cage, with tape over her eyes and she’s chained. The kidnapper cuts her fingernails. They reach the field office and start discussing the crimes and profile. They visit the site of the last murder to get some insight. Hotch and Reid go to visit the victim’s sister. They learn that she was looking to buy a specific car, a Datsun Z. Reid now believes that he is using a test drive ruse to kidnap his victims. Back at the field office, Gideon says they have profile ready. Morgan does not agree. Gideon delivers the profile to the task force. Elle walks to a house and asks for assistance. The woman calls for Richard. He’s a scrawny, nerdy kind of guy. He goes back to the house with Elle and the FBI take him down. They search his house and find the Jeep, but Gideon realizes they are missing something. Morgan searches Richard’s room and it looks off. Elle finds stairs to Richard’s attic. Some cops enter the wrong password on his computer locking it. Richard is playing a game of Go with himself. During the search of his room it’s discovered he’s been following Gideon. They have a chat at the table. Gideon believes that the girl is still alive based on the fact that he did not speak of her in the past tense. He realizes that it’s a partnership, two killers, not one. That Richard is the submissive of the two, and the dominant has the girl. Hotch talks with his mom and asks about his friends. They call upon Penelope Garcia for help on the software locking the computer. He’ll only get in with the actual password. They check everyone connected to Richard. Morgan works to get in his head. At the office, the viable partner they find is dead. They go visit the prison he was in and talk to the guard that knew him best, Timothy Vogel. He talks about protecting prisoners. As they leave Elle points out that there was a Z on his keys. Gideon calls Hotch and tells him about Timothy Vogel. Hotch goes to work interrogating Richard. Morgan is still trying to figure out the password. Reid comes in with a paperclip and ejects a CD from the computer. They got the password. Elle wants to pull over the Z, she is suspicious. She thinks something is wrong. Gideon authorizes her to pull him over. But it’s not Vogel, it’s a different guard. He’s got the guards truck. They got into Richard’s computer and are watching live feed of her. Reid analyzes frames from the video feed and realizes she’s being kept on a boat. Hotch goes back to Richard with the new information and continues the interrogation. Richard tells them where he’s holding her. Elle and Gideon go to the shipyard. They victim fights back and gets off the boat, Vogel grabs her again. Gideon confronts them. Gideon pisses him off enough to drop the girl and shoot at him, Elle gets him. The girl is safe. Back in Virginia Gideon stops at a gas station. He sees lots of pictures on the wall behind the clerk and the clerk stutters. He walks to his truck and the clerk pulls a shot gun on him.
