Synopsis: The episode opens back at the possible hatch location. The men speculate as to what would cause the weird depression. Jack jumps in the hole and determines its man-made. Tapping on it sounds like a hollow wood surface. Jack digs as much as he can. Marty decides to have an archeologist examine it. While waiting on the expert, Marty and Rick meet with the engineers for the money pit excavation. They’ve selected two sites to drill 40 inch holes in to a cost of around $2 million. The two cranes that will be used weigh 100 tons and 300 tons respectively. In order to do this the ground has to be leveled and reinforced and an access road has to be built. Rick and a few others go back to the New Ross location to look more closely at the well. For this investigation, they’ve brought Tony Sansom and his dive time. His plan of attack is to be lowered down in something that resembles a chair lift. Tony is lowered into the well. He finds a loose stone immediately and removes it. He rotates around at a lower level and finds a triangle symbol. Tony cleans and photographs it. The picture looks to show a triangle with an eye in the middle. It’s the freemason sign. Now Tony will do a full dive in gear and go all the way to the bottom. As he enters the water the visibility is very good. The bottom has two feet of sediment. Tony stirs up all that sediment though and the visibility disappears. However, as he comes up he finds a carving of a broad arrow in a stone. The dive is complete. The archeologist comes and they show him the hatch. He believes it is man-made. The team will need to get a permit to excavate. One week later, a discussion takes place in the war room about the money pit. Rick joins them and reveals that Fred Nolan has passed away. They take a moment to reflect and the narrator goes over all of his discovery’s. The group decide to go and inform Dan. They share some memories of him.
