Synopsis: The team travels to Saint Mary’s University to have the sword analyzed. The professor instantly recognizes that the sword is made of bronze. The person on the sword is Hercules. Based on how the sword was made, it’s not a functional sword, it was made as a work of art. He will send them to the chemistry department to have it tested to determine what it’s actually made of. Back on the island they are looking for Eel Grass in the same area where they found coconut fiber. The eel grass degrades at a different rate than the coconut fiber and can give them a more accurate date. They’ve dug up more coconut fiber and possibly found eel grass as well. It’s gets bagged to be sent for testing. Marty has hired a new diver, John Chatterton, for 10X and made clear that if he cannot succeed they are done with 10X. They video conference. John states that he won’t be using tanks, but umbilical. Dave warns them that visibility is zero. John states he doesn’t need visibility to determine if the cavern is man made or not. They also inform John that there is a drill bit at about 204 feet down. Another day a father and son team, Mike and Sean Herold, who are engineers and have theories on the island. But they are also related to Laverne Johnson. They bring a book that Laverne wrote about the island. His theory was that the money pit was a decoy and the treasure is hidden else. They’ve brought Laverne’s model as well. He connects some stones and believed the treasure was actually above sea level and only buried 30 feet deep. They will explore the theory and honor Laverne’s work. Rick tells them if they give them a spot to drill, they will drill it. However, one of the points that Mr. Johnson used to determine where he believed the treasure was buried is gone. Jack is heading towards the Johnson location and he hollers he’s found a drilled rock. They finally locate the approximate spot and the dirt in the area is slightly depressed. Getting equipment to that location will require some trees being removed. Four days later they manage to clear the area enough to bring in a rig and drill in a grid to check for the treasure. The first spot only contains bedrock. He moves on to the next target to drill. On hole number three the driller informs Rick he hit restrict at 31 feet and got wood at 35 feet. The continue to drill holes to try and narrow down a tunnel or box or chamber. The next core comes up with nothing but beach gravel. They have logged the hit at this location, but Rick is putting it on hold until 10X is completed. The team heads back to Saint Mary’s for the sword results. The chemistry professor tells them the sword is brass, a modern brass. So it was made 1880 or later. The team meets in the war room to discuss the analysis of the eel grass. The eel grass is from 1470 to 1650 with a 95% accuracy. The eel grass age links to several theories, the five credible ones.
