Synopsis: The swamp is scanned with the Deep Max Metal Detector. Once done, they go back to the war room to look at the results. The data will display in color. The colors they are looking for are red and orange. When the results go up on the screen there is a lot of red and orange. The professional metal detectors say that is the area to search. Marty decides to get some muck divers to go into that part of the swamp and confirm that something is there. Tony Samsone has been brought in to do the swamp dive. It will be zero visibility. They guys work to clear out as much of the vegetation in the area as they can so that Tony will be able to investigate as much as possible on the dive. Metal detecting continues with a handheld unit while the vegetation is being cut back. There’s a hit. They pull up a copper coin. They believe it to be Spanish. Tony gears up and dives in with a metal detector. He announces he has a hit about three feet in front of him, but there are a lot of roots. Rick jumps in to help him remove stuff. And Marty then jumps in as well to help. Tony goes back to searching with the metal detector and he’s getting hits. Tony brings up several flat rocks. They are olive in color and not granite. Tony tells them that he would get a signal and check again and then he would not get a signal. They worry there is a technical error or glitch. However, the metal detector operator states that three different machines got hits in the same areas. They are having difficulty reconciling that they got hits and now cannot find anything to back up the metal detector findings. They go to Dan’s house and show him the coin they found. He’s thrilled. Dan examines the coin and confirms it’s Spanish. They send the coin for analysis. Alex joins them in the war room via teleconference. The coin is a Spanish Maravedi but predates the money pit by at least 150 years. The coin was sought by pirates, so it’s also referred to as a treasure coin. They vote on if they want to go forward. Everyone votes to move forward but Marty, he’s hesitant. However, he wants to move forward. So they will be back.
